Job Overview: Our client is seeking a dynamic Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our cutting-edge Data Platform for In-Store Pick-Up. This role is crucial in building a streaming data analytics platform to support our eCommerce team in proactive planning for peak times, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. The ideal candidate will be a versatile engineer with a strong background in Python programming, data engineering, and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a streaming data analytics platform to enhance the eCommerce team's decision-making processes.
- Utilize Python for data engineering and analysis tasks, focusing on solving complex data-related challenges.
- Implement and manage data solutions using Azure technologies, including Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, and Synapse.
- Build and optimize metrics to provide actionable insights and support tactical positioning for high-impact events.
- Work with a lakehouse-based architecture, leveraging Delta Lake for both speed path and batch path data processing.
- Collaborate with a large team, including engineering managers, product managers, and scrum masters, to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Create and maintain advanced SQL queries and contribute to CI/CD pipeline processes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Python programming, with a strong focus on data-centric applications.
- Extensive knowledge of advanced SQL and experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
- Familiarity with Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, Synapse, and Databricks is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and data engineering principles.
- Experience in building and maintaining streaming data analytics platforms.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment similar to Google, Microsoft, or Meta is a plus.
