Compensation: $36-50k Plus Commission

With locations in Central Iowa and Wisconsin, Midwest specializes in helping American farmers and ranchers manage global price risk with futures, options, physical commodity sales and crop insurance.
We are seeking full-time Junior AG Commodity Broker(s) to join our team. Midwest is a second-generation firm committed to providing clients and team members with the mindset, structure and execution needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive marketplace. You will work directly with 15-year Senior broker, co-owner, and mentor to build company culture, generate leads and to brand yourself as an expert AG Market Consultant. You will learn to support, educate, and serve the World’s greatest Agricultural Producers.
This is a sales position that requires you to be both pleasant and proficient on the telephone. Midwest Market Management provides the infrastructure, training, and experience brokers need to generate, manage, and convert leads into high valued accounts. Multiple product lines and services provide Midwest Market Management brokers with additional revenue streams and opportunities that other firms simply do not provide.
JOB CONSIDERATIONS:
Training -- On-the-job training in sales, our products, trading operations, and the markets will be provided as you work directly with second generation senior broker and co-owner of Midwest Market Management.
Work Environment -- Enjoy the excitement of commodity markets in a fast-paced, but friendly professional atmosphere. We maintain an open workspace where the exchange of information and ideas is encouraged.
Series 3 License -- A Series 3 License is required of industry professionals. We will sponsor and educate qualified candidates for this exam. Most are able to obtain this license in about a two-week timeframe.
Advancement Opportunities: Successful candidates will advance to a role as a Senior Broker. Proven salesmanship efforts will unlock opportunities in our established and lucrative crop insurance sector.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Agricultural background a strong plus
Excellent verbal, written, and general office skills
DESIRED QUALITIES:
Sales ability -- Ability to speak comfortably on the phone is a must.
Self-motivation -- Must be a self-starter in this environment.
Time management -- multi-tasking and organization are critical.
Flexibility -- Ability to think quickly and improvise.
Desire to learn -- An integral part of the training process and long-term success.
Hard Work -- This is NOT a 9am to 5pm minimum commitment job. The hours are long and may require weekends too.
