Beacon Systems is looking for a senior-level Db2 DBA consultant with 10+ years of experience to help our retail client with a project starting ASAP. Must be able to work with IBM Senior DB Engineers to help plan and work on the effort. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing remediation and maintenance on several of the client's major systems.
For example:
- Tuning
- Reorgs, statistics
- Performance improvement
Additional details:
- Must have experience with AS400 or iSeries or IBMi.
- Candidates will need to be onsite first 2 weeks and then periodically thereafter
- Initial task will be to look at the databases and have the developers fix the code that needs to be fixed
- Initial tasks will not be in designing databases, but fix what’s broken
- Client is currently on DB2 version 7.4, moving to 7.5 in 2025
