What your day will look like:
- Create and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures that align with OSHA standards and other regulatory guidelines.
- Provide personnel with necessary safety-related information, conduct training sessions, establish emergency protocols, and ensure proper use of safety equipment.
- Regularly review and update existing safety policies and procedures to ensure they remain current and effective.
- Monitor the company’s daily operations, identifying opportunities to improve safety practices and reduce risk.
- Conduct safety audits and physical inspections of all work areas and job sites to proactively identify potential safety concerns.
- Perform risk assessments to mitigate workplace accidents, occupational illnesses, and long-term health hazards.
- Prepare and present safety reports (monthly or annually) to management, providing insights on safety performance and areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with the Aurora, IL location to ensure consistent safety practices across both manufacturing facilities.
- Work with management to plan and allocate the necessary budget for safety protocols and initiatives.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Safety Coordinator or similar role.
- Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Ability to identify and address potential safety hazards with precision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety documentation/reporting software.
