BTWD has invested in various technologies including ESRI products, VODA.ai, Hach WIMS, Trimble Unity, hydraulic modeling software, and Microsoft Access databases. The ideal candidate will work within these different environments and proficiently move data between the different software platforms.
Responsibilities
• Create, maintain, and update databases
• Develop and maintain links between various databases
• Work within the District’s ESRI environment (ArcGIS Pro, Server, Portal, AGOL)
• Develop ArcGIS Apps
• Collect GPS points and data
• Python helpful but not required
• Work with IT personnel to manage, maintain, and update GIS servers, both hardware and
software, to keep GIS operation and function available at all times for Department needs
• Work as a team in conjunction with BTWD staff
• Responsible for planning, managing, organizing, coordinating Geographic Information
Systems (GIS) functions within pre-determined guidelines
• Handle or coordinate data entry, compile and/or convert digital data as necessary
• Analyze spatial and attribute data using GIS software, display data through the use of maps,
reports, charts and tables using plotters and printers
• Conduct mapping research, in the field and in the office, to resolve conflicting information
and ensure the accuracy of the data; verify map information and make changes as deemed
appropriate according to needs of the project
• Attend industry meetings and workshops to collaboratively develop GIS vision and data
access for staff and customers.
• Regularly advise supervisor and other project team members on status of projects, and
progress toward meeting all deadlines
• Use District-issued computer, software, and various office equipment
• Maintain GIS-related documentation and procedures
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or strong background in GIS
• Strong attention to detail
