Job Title: Remote Professional Liability Claims Adjuster
Location: Remote (Candidates must be based in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Connecticut, or Massachusetts)
Project Duration: 3-6 months, with the possibility of extension and/or permanent conversion

Job Summary: As a Professional Liability Claims Adjuster, you will review, investigate, analyze, and adjust Professional Liability claims for municipalities in New Jersey. You will manage a caseload of new and pending claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, investigate, analyze, and adjust Professional Liability claims for New Jersey municipalities, managing a caseload of over 125 pending claims.
- Ensure accurate reserves are set on all claims files and maintain compliance with company standards.
- Establish and communicate current claims reports to underwriters and management, providing regular updates on case status.
- Maintain current claim diaries and ensure timely follow-up on all outstanding issues.
- Respond to all internal and external customer inquiries via electronic mail within 24 hours to ensure effective communication.
- Present large and/or complex losses to the claims team and senior management as required, providing detailed insights and recommendations.
- Manage defense counsel to ensure compliance with established litigation guidelines and strategies.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing the needs of both internal and external clients with professionalism and efficiency.
- Participate in settlement negotiations with plaintiff attorneys within assigned authority levels, aiming for equitable resolutions.
Skill Set / Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional liability claims handling experience, specifically with municipalities and schools, within an insurance carrier.
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience in commercial property and liability claims.
- Adjuster license in home state where required (New Jersey does not require an adjuster license).
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (7+ years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree).
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional organizational skills.
