Our work involves applying business analytics, ML/AI, and creative data visualization to tackle complex problems for clients and the insurance industry as a whole. As a Catastrophe Risk Intern, you will collaborate both internally and externally with analysts and senior executives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in analysis projects under guidance of senior catastrophe modelers.
- Gather, organize and review data relevant to catastrophe model validation.
- Perform analyses to extract data sets that can be used to calculate the client's risk exposure.
- Assist senior R&D team members in preparing and formatting summaries, presentations, and reports in order to convey potential risk and loss results for clients.
- Research and summarize industry publications and scientific papers of specific or regional perils in order to provide additional sources of information used for analyses and client reports
Qualifications
- Pursuing bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Meteorology, or similar analytical / science major
- Keen ability to organize
- Strong attention to detail
- High achieving academic record in program major and summer internships or other work experience
- Ability to work independently or within a team based on work demands
- Legally authorized to work in the US
