Chickie Wah Wah
General Manager
Chickie Wah Wah is an intimate music bar located on Canal Street in Mid-City that proudly presents local music of all sounds as well as special curated performances by touring artists.
The general manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the venue, including its staffing, facilities, and events.
Facilities
Oversee the facility’s cleanliness and safety, and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
Bar Operations
Execute the ordering, receiving, and inventory relating to bar operations.
Hire, train, and supervise the bartenders.
Configure all point-of-sale menus and pricing.
Provide financial data to the bookkeepers to ensure timely and accurate financial reconciliations.
Events
Establish protocols to ensure the fulfillment of resources and services needed for events, such as setup, cleaning, and teardown.
Vendors
Coordinate timely and fiscally-responsible fulfillment of supplies and resources needed to support venue operations.
Review invoices for accuracy and approve them for payment.
Sign checks for vendors and approve wires as needed.
Budget and Financials
Assist with the development and management of the venue’s budget.
Review and oversee settlements prior to settlement with band.
Report show financials to management on consistent and timely basis.
Work with bookkeeper to submit payroll, code credit cards, and other duties to help create accurate financials.
Conduct monthly inventory counts.
Staffing & Training
Hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff such as bartenders, box office employees, maintenance personnel, and security. Instill a program of the highest customer service and be an exemplar of best practices.
Schedule regular safety training and maintain first aid kits and AED unit.
Help develop a team environment with certain experienced staff with the ability to cover shifts as Manager on Duty and receive additional pay for that responsibility. (ie. The expectation is not to be at the club each and every night there is an event).
Business Development
Support all private event booking operations, including handling all inbound private event booking inquiries and helping to create and execute an outbound sales strategy.
Work to maximize revenues and utilization of the venue.
Work with the talent buying team to review upcoming events, and contribute opinions.
Meet regularly with the marketing team to review marketing plans and contribute to the success of the marketing of the venue.
COMPENSATION
$50,000 annual fixed salary + variable compensation, based on private event bookings and tied to club profitability. Additional pay for covering shifts as Manager on Duty.
