What You'll Do:
- Ensure the manufacture and shipping of products of the highest quality-outstanding in appearance, package presentation, performance, and taste - by correctly handling and utilizing raw materials and Good Manufacturing, Food Safety and Quality Practices
- Ensure a safe, clean and productive work environment and assist in maintaining a positive employee relations climate throughout the organization
- Recommend & implement standards for product quality and food safety
- Manage the HACCP Program and in interfacing with USDA inspection personnel
- Manage QC department including QC Supervisors and QC Technicians
- Maintain an adequately staffed, well qualified, and fully trained Quality Control/Sanitation organization
- Oversee the training of personnel in the performance of job responsibilities, including the safe and proper handling and/or use of material, tools, machinery, and equipment
- Maintain a shelf-life testing program and assist in managing customer feedback for product improvements
- Review and maintain all daily HACCP and SQF 2000 Level 3 documents and programs
- Manage microbiological testing
- Prepare customer samples
- Assist in the development and approval of product labeling
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience working for a food manufacturer
- 7+ years of experience in quality assurance and food safety
- Ability to lead, supervise and manage a team
- Experience in SQF (Safe Quality Food) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
- Holds a Bachelor of Science Degree
