Protecnium (protecnium.com/en) is an international consulting firm specialized in engineering and technical services in construction. We are currently looking for a Deputy Survey Manager for a tunnel infrastructure project in Washington D.C., USA.
Estimated duration: 48 months, with the possibility of extension depending on the progress of the project. Generally, at the end of a project, efforts are made to move the employee to other projects for continuity.
Main mission: Assist in the planning, coordination, and management of surveying activities in the Potomac River Tunnel construction project, ensuring the accuracy and suitability of the surveying data for construction operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Survey Manager in the planning and coordination of surveying activities.
- Supervise survey teams in the field, ensuring that surveys are performed in accordance with project standards and specifications.
- Verify and validate collected data, ensuring accuracy and suitability for use in construction operations.
- Apply specialized technical expertise in Slurry TBM and EDB to ensure that survey methods are appropriate for ground conditions and project specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and other departments to integrate survey data into construction models.
- Supervise and train surveying staff in the use of specialized equipment and software.
- Ensure the availability and maintenance of surveying equipment required for project execution.
- Work closely with the Survey Manager to prepare detailed reports on survey progress.
- Maintain constant communication with other departments to ensure the effective integration of survey data into construction plans.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics Engineering, Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of surveying experience, with at least 3 years on projects involving Slurry and EDB.
- Advanced knowledge in the use of surveying equipment and software (e.g., GPS, Total Stations, AutoCAD, Civil 3D). Experience in applying surveying techniques in tunneling and underground projects.
- Ability to lead teams and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- English B2/C1.
- Experience in heavy civil engineering
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, office hours.
