Immigration Paralegal/ Legal Assistant role:
Substantial direct interaction with clients to gather facts and documents, accurate completion of government forms, preparation of requests for relief under various immigration programs (visa petitions, adjustments, consular processing, naturalization, waivers), management of caseload and deadlines, preparation of affidavits and responses to government notices. Prior work with Immigrants, paralegal experience, or Bachelor's degree is a plus but not required. Should be detail-oriented, willing to learn, committed to helping immigrants, hard-working, able to work independently and write persuasively, professional in dress and demeanor.
Immigration Paralegal/ Legal Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare USCIS forms and collect supporting documentation
- Prepare removal defense filings
- Assist with U.S. visa petitions
- Analyze case documents
- Perform legal research
- Communicate with clients
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed
- Computer literacy
