The Senior Database Administrator (DBA) is a professional responsible for managing, securing, and handling the data, databases, and pipelines for the company. As a member of the Database Development Services team, they are responsible for the operations of on-premises and cloud databases. A Senior DBA provides consulting and mentoring to less senior staff members on database-related topics.
What you'll do
- Support live operational databases across all environments. (Production/Non-Production)
- Identify and act on opportunities to improve performance, automate processes, and add value to databases and data pipelines
- Use database management system software and tools for Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and Azure
- Understands data and information in all its forms
- Working knowledge of data pipeline development to build and maintain optimal data architectures
- Understand conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Time reporting and monthly status reports turned in on time
What you'll need
- B.S. in computer science, engineering to technical field, or extensive work experience as a DBA
- 5 to 10 years of experience as a DBA
- Expert knowledge of SQL Server or Oracle installation and configuration
- Excellent knowledge of relational database logical concepts and physical implementation concepts
- Excellent grasp of programming and software development concepts
- Competency in some scripting language, preferably Python
- Excellent skills in presenting and writing on technical topics
