The Intersect Group is looking for a Paralegal to perform a variety responsible, complex and analytical administrative assignments within a department or division. This includes assistance with budget development, implementation and administration; records management; purchasing, inventory control and contract administration; customer care and vendor collaboration and general Paralegal support.

EXPERIENCE: Three years of increasingly responsible professional level administrative staff experience. Education: Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business or public administration or a related field
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: This is the journey-level position in the Administrative Management series. Incumbents perform complex assignments and may oversee a project or program within a department or division.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Receives general supervision from Administrative Manager or the department’s management staff members. May exercise direct supervision over assigned administrative support staff.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The following essential functions are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed functions and/or may be required to perform additional or different functions from those below, to address business needs and changing business practices: Assist in the operation of departmental administrative activities, such as budget development, implementation and administration, records management, purchasing and inventory control, customer services, contract administration, personnel administration, and general administrative support services
- Develop procedures, methods and schedules for approval
- Design and perform a variety of professional level administrative studies, statistical analyses and projects
- Prepare reports of findings and recommendations related to administrative and other departmental matters
- Develop and review staff reports and correspondence related to departmental issues; may assist in presenting reports to the City Council, commissions, committees and boards
- Assist in departmental operating budget preparation
- Allocate budgeted resources within internal budgets and assist in administering the approved budget
- Coordinate services with other departments and divisions and with outside agencies and organizations
- Assist in administering and monitor professional services agreements and contracts for compliance with the administrative and related provisions of the agreement
- May plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and monitor the work of a small administrative support staff
- Provide or coordinate staff training
- Coach employees to improve job performance and to correct deficiencies
- Prepare performance evaluations
- Answer questions and provide information to the public
- Receive and investigate complaints and recommend corrective action, as necessary to resolve complaints; maintain time, material and equipment use records; and Perform related duties as assigned
