A Designer II uses artistic talent, research, experience, knowledge of regulatory body requirements, and experience to design and develop innovative and cost-effective vessel designs.
About the Role:
Creates innovative and cost-effective solutions in the development of vessel designs. Develop functional drawings based on direction from the engineer and applicable work order instructions. Reviews applicable specification and regulation requirements. Develops detailed production drawings based on functional drawings, applicable specifications, and work orders. Ensures that the design product created interfaces with overall vessel design. Ensures that engineering deliverables conform to engineering design and customer specifications. Consults with vendors on project related activities. Actively interfaces with other engineering disciplines and production department. Must follow all Company policies and procedures, including those relative to employee safety, environmental policy, and the principles of our quality system. Other duties assigned or requested by Management. Works overtime as required. Reports to work daily and on time.

Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of USCG, ABS, SOLAS and government shipbuilding standards.
- Working knowledge of marine systems and shipbuilding industry.
- Supervisory skills: coordinating and scheduling activities of team members.
- Team-oriented, can work well with others.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Five (5) years of CAD operating experience preferred. (AutoCAD and ShipConstructor preferred).
Pay range and compensation package:
Pay: $50,000.00 - $90,277.00 per year
