The Construction Manager oversees the construction phase of a Capital Project at a local University, ensuring that all construction activities, logistics, and planning are carried out safely and efficiently in accordance with company standards.
- Oversee all construction activities, ensuring timely completion within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Ensure contractor compliance with company standards and OSHA regulations for utility systems and major equipment replacements.
- Provide logistics and constructability reviews, resolving construction issues as needed.
- Conduct on-site supervision to ensure safety standards and quality requirements are met.
- Perform QA/QC supervision during construction and commissioning phases, including field inspections.
- Serve as the main contact for subcontractors, coordinating construction tasks and addressing issues.
- Lead daily construction logistics, coordinating material deliveries, equipment, and manpower.
- Manage project documentation, punch lists, and closeout processes to ensure successful project completion.
What You’ll Bring
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent work experience in construction and technical systems.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in construction management, with preference for utility distribution systems experience.
- Experience with Primavera P6 is required, along with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Procore is required.
- Experience managing projects with budgets ranging from $50 million to $100 million.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred.
- Strong work ethic with a proactive, self-starter attitude.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement management tools is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and construction management software, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
