DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support creation of R&D roadmaps for products and technology.
- Drive funding activities for internal R&D reference platforms.
- Develop Intellectual Property (Patents, proprietary tools, etc.).
- Build professional relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Adapt and be effective in fast-changing business environments.
Communication:
- Present verbal and written ideas clearly.
- Encourage team input and host technology forums.
BUSINESS AND FUNCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Strategy and Direction:
- Understand and execute the business product development strategy.
- Provide updates to Business Unit Directors, Managers, sector leads, and engineering management.
Cost Management:
- Identify and implement cost-reduction strategies.
- Monitor project costs and trends, providing feedback to peers and management.
- Manage project proposals and quotations.
- Maintain and drive technology roadmaps and product development strategies.
TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead product development from concept to mass manufacturing.
- Work across various engineering disciplines.
- Learn and apply new concepts quickly.
- Be the subject matter expert for design and customer teams in multiple areas (e.g., electromagnetic compatibility, power electronics, thermal management, etc.).
- Develop and maintain processes for product and technology architecture, system design, and requirements engineering.
- Identify resources to support product development.
- Lead Product Realization Proposals, System Specifications, Product Architectures, design reviews, test plans, etc.
- Guide and oversee the development of systems/products to maintain product architecture integrity.
- Provide cost-effective solutions that meet customer needs.
- Develop and implement platform and product requirements.
- Work with partners and suppliers to provide the best technical and cost solutions.
- Enhance product and technical development capabilities at regional design centers.
- Develop detailed product design specifications and drive implementation.
- Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations.
- Comply with all company processes and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 10-12+ years of experience in full product development (concept, requirements, system architecture, specification, design, testing, validation, production).
- Experience in Energy Storage Systems, EV Charging Systems, power electronics, grid power generation and distribution, battery and/or charging systems.
- Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Experience in electrical and mechanical CAD tools.
- Experience in high-level software development.
- Experience in WindChill and DevOps is a plus.
- Or equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.
