Overview:
The HR Generalist is responsible for overseeing various human resource functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws. This role supports both employees and management by fostering a positive work environment and ensuring that HR policies are implemented effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selection.
- Conduct new hire orientations and ensure smooth onboarding processes.
- Collaborate with department heads to determine staffing needs.
- Serve as the main point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
- Support and advise employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work culture.
- Assist in the implementation of performance evaluation systems, including goal-setting, mid-year reviews, and annual appraisals.
- Work with managers to address performance issues and develop improvement plans.
- Facilitate employee development programs and training initiatives.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Assist with compensation planning and salary benchmarking.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee benefits and payroll changes.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEOC).
- Maintain employee records and HR data in accordance with legal and company standards.
- Prepare and submit reports related to workforce metrics, diversity, and compliance as required.
- Policy Development & Implementation:
- Assist in developing, updating, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Communicate HR policies and ensure that employees understand and follow them.
- Employee Engagement & Retention:
- Organize employee engagement activities, events, and recognition programs.
- Monitor employee satisfaction and work to improve retention strategies.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze turnover trends.
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities for employees.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory training programs, such as harassment prevention or safety training.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in HR software (e.g., HRIS, ATS) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
- Experience in employee relations, talent management, and policy development.
