Title: Data Engineer
Location: Philadelphia, PA *(Hybrid)
Compensation: 80 to 90k + Bonus
Type: Direct
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with experience in Big Data and Oracle Cloud to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ensuring seamless data integration, storage, and processing using the latest cloud technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and support ETL frameworks and processes within all layers of the Enterprise Data Platform
- Troubleshoot data issues through all layers of the Enterprise Data Platform to understand root cause
- Work with data modelers, data engineers. and BI analysts to provide complete end-to-end-solutions
- Writes technical specifications and determines time estimates
- Unit tests development to verify compliance with specifications
- Assists team members with design, technical, and training issues
- Reports status regularly to management
- Analyzes business processes in order to determine and develop technical solutions to meet business objectives
- Interacts with Business Analysts and staff within business units to determine options for addressing business requirements
- Supports the existing architecture, deliverables, new product releases, and plans for additional capacity as needed to support business needs
- Assists users with system testing
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience working with Big data technologies: Spark / Spark SQL, Python, Hortonworks / Cloudera platform or similar. as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Linus / Shell scripting.
- Strong understanding of BI and Data Warehousing processes and tools.
- Experience with data modeling within Big Data and rdbms, including the Kimball Design Methodology (star schemas, bridge tables, etc.)
- Proficient in SQL, Python, and/or Java for data manipulation and pipeline development.
- Oracle cloud development: compute instances, BDC, object storage
