Our client, an innovative business consulting firm based in MN, is embarking on a series of projects with a leading investor-owned energy company and is in search of a well-rounded and high-performing product manager to drive strategic direction of their product offerings. This person will be instrumental in analyzing current product portfolios, building a roadmap for future development, and ensuring that all processes are designed to deliver continuous value. They will work closely with various teams and strategic partners to ensure all products meet and exceed market needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate current portfolio – analyze existing products to detmine what is working, what isn’t, and make recommendations for adjustments
- Future roadmap development – build and refine a strategic roadmap for future product development. Assess and prioritize upcoming opportunities, identifying new products or features to add
- Strategic decisions – determine what should and should not be included or excluded from the portfolio, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and market demand
- Process design and optimization – design and implement efficient processes for product development and lifecycle management
- Cross-functional collaboration – build and maintain effective relationships with key partners to facilitate collaborative product development
- Hands-on execution – take a proactive approach to problem-solving and project execution. This role is hands-on, requiring active involvement in all aspects of product development
- Drive continuous value delivery and process improvements through practical, actionable steps
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years in product management with a strong background in managing both digital and physical products. Proven experience in portfolio management and working with strategic partners
- Energy industry experience highly preferred
- Expertise in designing processes, applying Lean Six Sigma principles, and executing Agile practices. Strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset
- Smart, motivated, creative and fun. A pro-active problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Strong PowerPoint skills a plus
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
