We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Commodities Trading team, where you will develop and maintain data pipelines that support the ingestion, management, and analysis of critical datasets used by our analysts and traders. This role involves close collaboration with senior data engineers and stakeholders on both new and ongoing projects. Initially, your focus will be on streamlining data access for analysts, with the potential to contribute to the design and development of core data infrastructure in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust ETL pipelines using Python.
- Collaborate within a small, experienced engineering team.
- Engage directly with internal users to understand and address their data needs.
- Contribute to both legacy systems and new project initiatives.
Required Skills:
- Degree in a numerate field.
- Proficiency in programming, preferably with Python.
- Enthusiastic, driven, and attentive to detail.
Preferred Experience:
- Background in commodities trading, particularly in the US gas sector.
- Experience or strong interest in data engineering.
- Familiarity with the Pandas library.
- Knowledge of relational databases, with a preference for Postgres.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with end-users and interpret their requirements.
