Job Summary:
Under the direction of Leadership, the IT Senior Applications Analyst Pharmacist is responsible to empower our community through the continuous development, deployment, and support of vendor proprietary enterprise application software. The Senior Application Analyst Pharmacist supports software that is necessary to run clinical, financial, or business systems within a large integrated health system. This position works on the analysis of existing and proposed vendor supplied software functionality to determine if the software conforms to current clinical health system workflow processes. The Senior Application Analyst Pharmacist is a high performing individual who collaborates with business operations to understand and define system requirements to develop innovative solutions meeting the customers' needs. The Senior Application Analyst Pharmacist performs expert level support and configuration of assigned applications. This position trains and/or mentors new or less experienced colleagues. The Senior Application Analyst Pharmacist is responsible to understand and conform to Our organization's project and change management methodologies and may be responsible for leading moderate to high complexity projects leveraging this framework. In addition, this position requires an on-call rotation facilitating off hour work functions in support of incidents, upgrades, patches, and project task fulfillment.

Utilizes knowledge of medications and pharmacy workflows to troubleshoot high complexity end-user issues, workflow problems, and enhancement requests for departmental users, associated medical staff, key stakeholders, management and leadership. Contributes to technical and workflow root cause analysis. Acts as a consultant to healthcare professionals regarding utilization of pharmaceutical therapies and participates in Network committees and quality improvement initiatives as directed. Provides education and support for the implementation of projects, programs and pharmacy initiatives (i.e. automation, clinical monitoring, patient education, etc.). Serves as a preceptor for pharmacy informatics students. Actively participates in the education and training of new pharmacy employees, pharmacy students and pharmacy interns. Utilizes the appropriate analytic tools and process improvement techniques to assess and improve medication-use processes. Assesses published literature and/or database sources to identify best practices and/or guidelines relevant to appropriate medication-use and identifies opportunities for pharmaceutical related changes. Analyze business operations as they relate to design decisions and prioritize and implement requested changes to the system. On an as needed basis, performs in-depth analyses of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with the use of integrated applications with minimal assistance. Design, test, implement and support files/systems within assigned products and scope with minimal supervision. Populates tables and databases, for a domain with multiple owners, with some assistance from Vendor and Information Technology staff. Collaborates in an integrated approach to eliminate the potential for a negative impact to our customers and patients. Responsible for maintaining set standards of application system build and database maintenance. Including updates to master files, profiles, dictionaries, and other databases. Assists with recommendations for standardized naming, numbering and security conventions.

Facilitates work groups to successfully drive outcomes that deliver best practice, optimal workflows with high adoption, effective utilization of standard platforms and network standardization. Assists with the change management, project management, and documentation policies and standards, established by the Information Technology Department and Project Management Office for maintenance, requests and new initiatives. Will lead moderate to high complexity projects as assigned. Understands and utilizes the IT Project Management toolset for the successful completion of initiatives.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy Sciences from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
- Experience:5 years experience of Healthcare, consulting, or IT related experience that demonstrates an advanced understanding of the standard tools, workflow processes, and/or procedures and concepts used in the deployment and development of application software necessary to run the healthcare systems business, clinical or financial systems. (required)
- 8 years of Healthcare, consulting, or IT related experience that demonstrates an advanced understanding of the standard tools, workflow processes, and/or procedures and concepts used in the deployment and development of application software necessary to run the healthcare systems business, clinical or financial systems. (preferred)
- Certifications Required:Registered Pharmacist
- Arizona Board of Pharmacy License Required Certification for assigned application should be obtained within designated timeframe per policy.
