The Product Engineering Manager will plan, direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for the activities of the Engineering Department in designing and laying out of cabinets and countertops by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees to ensure goals or objectives of the department are within prescribed time frame and parameters.
- Supervise and manage activity of the engineering group.
- Direct department activities to design and modify existing designs, improve techniques, and develop procedures.
- Resolve problems using solutions involving new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
- Analyze technology trends and market demands to plan projects.
- Review project proposal or plan to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing project and allotment of available resources.
- Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and specifications as it relates to the design and layout of products.
- Collaborates with other team leaders and departments.
- Advise management of new developments affecting profit, schedule, costs, customer relations and/or inter-departmental relations.
- Ability to develop new products and oversee design to actual prototype.
- Working knowledge of take offs and architectural blueprints.
- Maintain high level expertise in their field.
- Strive to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product design and to reduce waste
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree
- Continuous improvement / Lean experience preferred
- Prior leadership experience preferred
- Knowledge of Construction Industry
- Ability to supervise and manage multi-level of employees.
- Schedule and control work projects.
- Perform administrative duties.
- Work with mathematical concepts.
- Knowledge of database software, design software, manufacturing software, and spreadsheet software, CAD drawing software)
