The Role
As a Software Engineer, you will be key in developing mission-critical systems, designing distributed systems, and delivering high-performance APIs. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring that complex challenges are turned into innovative and scalable software solutions. From concept to delivery, you’ll be involved in every step of the product lifecycle, making a tangible impact on space missions.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive the software development process from design to deployment, taking ownership of key projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to build and refine APIs, improving system efficiency and scalability.
- Develop mission-critical software that simplifies complex tasks for real-world operators, including Mission Control Systems (MCS).
- Engage in discussions around architecture, design, and code reviews to ensure high-quality and secure system designs.
- Continuously improve software products to meet the evolving needs of space missions.
- Work closely with internal teams to design tools that enhance operations and drive innovation.
What You’ll Need:
- Eligibility: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret or TS/SCI clearance. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 2-5 years of software development experience, with expertise in full-stack development.
- Skills: Proficiency in Go, Python, Ruby on Rails and JavaScript/TypeScript,, with experience in API development (e.g., FastAPI, Echo, Express) and relational databases like PostgreSQL.
- Bonus Skills: Familiarity with NoSQL databases, Kubernetes, AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda), or data engineering.
