Position Purpose
The Manufacturing Engineering Lead is responsible for leading the technical execution of PCBA and Harness manufacturing for spacecrafts and spacecraft components.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead a team of manufacturing engineers specializing in electrical and harness manufacturing
- Develop, maintain, and own best practice documentation for PCBA and harness manufacturing
- Own the investigation, resolution, and root cause/corrective action for all PCBA and harness manufacturing defects
- Support PCBA design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Review PCBA schematics, layouts, and part placements
- Coordinate DFM updates with electrical engineering and PCB layout
- Analyze EEE parts supply chain, coordinating required changes with supply chain, electrical engineering, and program management
- Coordinate with supply chain and supplier quality to develop and maintain robust supplier base for Class 3 PCB, PCBA, and harness manufacturers
- Work with supply chain and manufacturing product leads to drive on-time delivery of externally sourced products
- Develop and lead factory improvement initiatives associated with the manufacturing of PCBAs and harnessing
- May include management responsibilities
Required Qualifications/Education
- BS or AAS degree in an Engineering field or equivalent discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in electrical and harness manufacturing
- IPC 610 and 620 certified
- Experience with Class 3 PCBA manufacturing
- Experience with complex harness assembly
- Experience with Altium ECAD or similar
- Proficiency with interpreting PCBA schematics and drawings
- Proficiency with interpreting harness wiring diagrams and drawings
- Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education
