Position: Sr. Electrical and Controls Designer – Baton Rouge, LA

The Baton Rouge, LA location performs engineering for EPC projects awarded to our Houston construction group as well as engineering design projects for oil and gas clients. The Baton Rouge engineering group maintains space in the company headquarters for project management and engineering personnel. Responsibilities:
- Create and locate electrical equipment within a 3D model environment using AutoCAD, CADWorx & Navisworks in coordination with engineers and other discipline designers and documentation.
- Layout site specific Power Distribution per company, client and industry standards.
- Use PFD and P&ID documentation to determine project scope.
- Prepare plan drawings from 2D and 3D models for installation of power and control systems showing hazardous area, conduits, duct banks, cable tray, & grounding.
- Develop installation detail drawings for all electrical and instrumentation equipment required.
- Size cabinets, panelboards, cables, trays and conduit per industry standards.
- Prepare one-line drawings and wiring diagrams required for specified power equipment.
- Prepare wiring diagrams for control systems power and communications.
- Research and review Company Standards, Municipality Requirements, and Regulatory Codes.
- Perform independent QA/QC of drawing deliverables.
- Work closely with civil/structural and piping designers to ensure a cohesive plan layout.
- Perform field related work to obtain design information and verify designs for tie-ins as needed.
- Review and respond to RFI’s throughout project-life.
- Review of third-party vendor drawings to ensure compatibility.

- Minimum 5+ years of experience in the following software/programs:
- AutoCAD and CADWorx
- Navisworks
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Detailed knowledge in the application of Codes and current Standards, including but not limited to:
National Electrical Code (NEC)
ANSI/ISA-5.1-2022
API-RP500
- US citizen or Permanent Resident card holder.
