Our client, a leader in AI-Powered Efficiency in Healthcare Automation is looking for a Senior Technical Architect for their North Dallas, Texas location.
The Technical Architect should be able to understand routing tables, permissions, and the implications of firewalls, and should be able to guide the team through configuration challenges. They should bring a fresh perspective and work with legacy systems to move to the next phase, moving from a Legacy system to the cloud!
Technical Architecture
- Lead the design and architecture of an on-premise technical infrastructure stack, ensuring they align with the overall technology strategy of the organization.
- Participate in the design, planning, and execution of cloud migration and data warehousing strategies
- Execute projects to eliminate technical debt and create reliable, available, and resilient systems.
- Test platform and infrastructure changes thoroughly using techniques such as load simulation, test environments, production pilots, and audit modes.
- Identify and execute opportunities for architectural improvement including but not limited to new technologies, better methods, and innovative approaches.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to system engineering teams to ensure best practices are followed.
- Assist with other duties as assigned
Technical Proficiency
- Utilize strong knowledge of Unix-like operating systems and Windows operating systems to support secure and performant configurations.
- Manage relational databases to ensure data integrity, security, and performance optimization.
- Configure, manage, and optimize virtualization platforms such as Proxmox, VMWare or cloud
Security
- Implement infrastructure improvement projects and new systems according to secure design principles and consistent with company security policies.
- Identify gaps and opportunities for security improvement within the environment.
Professional Development
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements & Technical Skills
Proficiency with Debian Linux and Windows operating systems and related foundational concepts.
Strong knowledge of security best practices including:
- Web application security (e.g. OWASP)
- Database security
- Network security
- Strong knowledge of cloud provisioning and operations, particularly with hybrid environments and on-prem to cloud migrations
- Microsoft Azure
- Amazon Web Services
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft licensing
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical infrastructure management or a related role
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., cloud, networking, and security) are a plus.
