Job Summary:
To setup and operate a computer numerical controlled multi axis horizontal machining center to perform various milling, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, turning, operations in a job shop environment. Level I: Setup, program and operate a CNC Machining Center to do a variety of close tolerance machining. Produce parts from prints, samples, sketches or drawings. Check all machined parts. All work must conform to highest quality standards. Install and adjusting tools, set feeds and speeds, install fixtures, blocks, shims, and clamping devices. Oil and grease machine as required. Clean machine at regular intervals. Use coolant when machining.
Education and/or Experience Required:
- Prefer candidates with ability to draw in MasterCam and produce programs for mill and lathe operations.
- Prefer candidates with minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the setup and operation of manual and/or CNC milling or turning machines, horizontal boring mills or jig boring mills for heavy metal removal on small to medium parts and to produce component parts and assemblies OR Associate degree in machining.
- Stainless Steel, Hastelloy®, AL-6XN, 5 Axis, Mazak and Master-Cam experience is a plus.
A Machinist works on the production floor and must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch. You must also be able to reach above and below your shoulder and have fine finger manipulation. You must be able to work in an environment that is considered dusty and dirty. (Metal dust)
Hourly position availability on 2nd shift. 2nd shift is M-Th 2:30pm – 1:00am. Training may occur on 1st shift. Position requires the ability to work over-time, which may include arriving early or working on normally scheduled days off.
