At American Track, the Project Manager ensures projects are successfully delivered on time and on budget. The Project Manager continually collaborates with owners, superintendents, area managers, engineers and subcontractors to define project needs, create estimates, budgets, manage equipment logistics, addresses any issues that may affect project parameters, and ensures contractual specifications are met. The Project Manager is self-motivated and follows quality standards and ensures the highest level of safety compliance for all projects.
What You'll do:
- Collaborates with and maintains thorough communication with owners, internal project team, and subcontractors.
- Maintains updated and detailed knowledge of project scope, plans, drawings, specifications, estimates, and contractual requirements
- Works with leadership to establish project estimates, budgets, timelines, and goals
- Reviews project budgets regularly and reports any variables and concerns to leadership
- Keeps management apprised of all project variables in order to mitigate and manage risk
- Works with the project team to adjust manpower to efficiently complete each project and to coordinate effective schedule changes
- Enforces safety and quality control policies among employees and subcontractors to ensure the project runs smoothly and on schedule
- Monitors and reports on the progress of each project
- Plans inspections and obtains construction permits from local authorities
- Orders the appropriate equipment and manages equipment logistics
- Keeps track of material stock and orders
- Ensure the job site is safe, clean, and orderly
- Complies with company, local, and federal rules, policies, and procedures – wear required safety equipment, respond to and act on safety concerns.

What we'll need from you:
- Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience and an in-depth understanding of rail maintenance and new construction operations and processes
- Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
- Must be a clear communicator, have a positive attitude, and the ability to motivate team members on site
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Accountability and integrity are essential as the decisions made in the role affect countless others
- Willing to work in the elements in all weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, sleet, etc.)
- Recognize, avoid, and report potential hazards
