Position Purpose:
The Principal GN&C Engineer has full GN&C subsystem responsibility for multiple space missions, including all program phases from new business development through on-orbit operations.
The Principal GN&C Engineer will lead development of new and improved capabilities, features, and infrastructure of the GN&C subsystem, occasionally leading a team of engineers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, analyze, test, and deploy GN&C subsystems for spacecraft across various orbits.
- Develop new GN&C technologies to meet customer needs and strategic goals.
- Lead engineering teams on specific GN&C projects, ensuring on-time delivery and product enhancements.
- Improve and implement GN&C system architectures across product lines.
- Lead the evolution of GN&C processes, tools, and best practices.
- Participate in all mission phases from design to on-orbit operations.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and may involve personnel management.
Required Qualifications/Education:
- BS in Engineering or related field with 10+ years of related experience.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, 6-DOF simulations, and GN&C system design.
- Experience with spacecraft GN&C, including testing, sensors, actuators, and autonomous vehicle controls.
- Experience with C and Ruby languages.
- Experience with Model Based Design and auto-coding.
- Previous experience with orbital vehicles, especially small satellite GN&C.
- Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
