Maintenance Manager
Purpose
Oversee and manage the maintenance department to ensure the efficient and effective operation of all facility equipment and systems. Drive continuous improvement and optimize maintenance processes to minimize downtime, reduce costs, and enhance overall plant productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with organizational goals.
- Conduct regular maintenance audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and patterns to make data-driven decisions.
Team Management and Development:
- Manage, hire, and train a highly skilled and motivated team of maintenance technicians, including: 2 building lead mechanics, 4 mechanics, 1 engineer, 1 MRO buyer, 3 night shift mechanics.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to develop team members' skills.
- Establish clear performance expectations and goals for the maintenance team.
Maintenance Program Management:
- Develop and implement effective preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and optimize performance.
- Coordinate and oversee corrective maintenance activities to address equipment breakdowns and emergencies in a timely manner.
- Manage maintenance budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
Collaboration and Problem-Solving:
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and other departments to identify and address maintenance-related issues.
- Utilize root cause analysis techniques to identify the underlying causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Develop and implement safety programs and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance to ensure quality, delivery, and pricing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance management role within a manufacturing or industrial facility.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools, such as CMMS systems.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
