Summary
The primary purpose of the maintenance staff is to ensure production and operations are running safely at the most efficient level achievable, producing the highest possible production quality
Essential Functions
- Troubleshoots and repairs equipment utilizing prints, schematics.
- Identifies and recommends corrections on electrical issues through knowledge of drives and PLCs.
- Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
- Perform highly diversified duties to maintain production machines and the facility’s equipment.
- Ensure machine productivity and quality after repairs, changeovers, and extended down time.
- Assist production in whatever the needed capacity (within trained knowledge) to ensure that quality and productivity standards and goals are met.
- Respond Quickly to Safety issues or concerns that may put production employees at risk for injury, to include rectifying immediate dangers with approval of management. This also includes “near miss” situations.
- Check and inspect assigned equipment during preventative maintenance. Reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action
- Perform basic, simple (as needed) repairs on forklifts to maintain production levels.
- Maintain building safety and appearance including utilities, ventilation, housekeeping and plumbing including waste and process plumbing.
- Perform projects towards continuous improvement and standardization work and any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager
- Complete and update maintenance work order tracking system.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education:
- Highschool diploma/ Ged preferred but not required
- Certifications preferred but not required
Experience:
- 5 + years of industrial maintenance experience in fast paced manufacturing environment
- Any equivalent of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
- Ability to understand and interpret gauges, tools, and instruments relating to product quality and equipment repair
- Must have a good working knowledge of electricity and troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Knowledge and experience with PLCs, drives are preferred.
- Must have experience in welding with MIG and/or arc welder.
- Forklift experience is required, training will be provided.
