Looking to hire a Construction Project Manager for a rapidly growing General Contractor in Washington DC. The core markets they operate in are K12 and higher education, hospitals, multifamily, libraries, and other municipal projects. Core Responsibilities:
- Help in the preconstruction and estimating efforts on the projects.
- Part of an on-site team responsible for the overall budgeting / bidding activities on projects.
- Provide initial schedule for estimating and bidding purpose. Assist superintendent with detailed construction scheduling as necessary.
- Negotiate, award, write and enforce contracts.
- Review with superintendent project costs to ensure project is kept within budget.
- Ensure compliance with bond and insurance requirements.
- Build and maintain local market subcontractor relationships.
- Work with superintendent on job site logistics and schedule.
- Coordinate office support as required for project needs.
- Coordinate all close-out activities on a timely basis.
- Perform additional assignments per client or management direction.
- Potential supervisory responsibilities of an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer.
To be successful in this role:
- 5+ years of construction project management experience. Ideal candidates will have 2-3 years of Education, Hospitals, or Multifamily experience, however client would consider anyone with ground up base build commercial experience.
- Experience running projects valued above $20M from start to finish.
- Operating in a Construction Project Manager position for a commercial general contractor.
- Construction related degree preferred, ideally in Construction Management. Relevant experience would also be considered.
- Strong estimating and budgeting ability.
