Job Overview – Specimen Technician:
Join our trusted healthcare client’s team in Denver, CO, as a Specimen Technician. In this role, you'll handle data entry, sort specimens, and provide essential lab support within the Specimen Processing Department.
Compensation: $15 - $18/hour
Location: Denver, CO
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM (40 Hours/Week)
Responsibilities as the Specimen Technician:
- Specimen Processing: Handle tasks such as A-station, presort, centrifugation, aliquoting, and delivery of specimens to the laboratory.
- Data Entry: Enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour with accuracy, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met.
- Compliance: Stay up-to-date with compliance regulations related to test ordering, which may change frequently.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with staff, uphold safety protocols, and keep the work area clean in a biohazard environment.
- Flexibility: Adapt to varying demands, including potential weekend, holiday, on-call, and overtime shifts as needed.
Qualifications for the Specimen Technician:
- Education: High school diploma required.
- Experience: 6+ months of experience in a laboratory, production environment, or data entry role preferred.
- Skills: Basic computer knowledge, strong organizational skills, and familiarity with medical terminology.
- Medical Background: Preferred but not required; understanding of clinical laboratory testing and specimen processing is a plus.
