Position: Sr. Financial Analyst
Location: New York, NY
Type: Contract
Pay Rate: $55 to 65/hr
Job Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in gathering, organizing, and presenting financial and project-related data. The position involves supporting leadership through analytical reporting, ensuring project metrics and financial compliance, and facilitating data-driven decision-making. You will utilize data from various systems to generate insightful reports that enable clear, informed business strategies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the O&T Administration team while also handling tasks independently, participating in governance and financial management for the O&T organization at The Clearing House.
- Analyze complex data sets, offering recommendations that streamline governance processes and address financial management challenges. This includes troubleshooting operational bottlenecks and ensuring smooth process flow.
- Generate detailed analysis reports and prepare content for presentations, with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness, and clarity of the information presented.
- Manage resource and financial data, including planning, reporting, organizing approvals, and follow-ups, ensuring timely and accurate inputs/outputs.
- Become an advocate for best practices in financial reporting and resource analytics, contributing to enhanced organizational effectiveness.
- Identify and escalate any discrepancies or exceptions, working toward process improvements across the organization.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical qualification with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), with proficiency in budgeting (both Opex and Capex) and an understanding of basic accounting principles such as accruals, capitalizations, and prepaid expenses.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas) and PowerPoint, with the ability to embed charts and format presentations effectively.
- Strong ability to compile, analyze, and quality-check large volumes of data from multiple sources, including project resource data like capacity and demand.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, with an analytical mindset and a passion for working with data.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present actionable insights and reports to stakeholders clearly and effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A proactive, independent thinker who can anticipate challenges and provide solutions.
- Familiarity with procure-to-pay systems like SAP Ariba, including experience with invoice and purchase order research and generating custom financial transaction reports.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-level project management tools, such as HP PPM or CA PPM.
- Prior experience with system implementations or database creation is highly advantageous.
