Production Support Engineer
Duration: 12 months plus (possible extension or conversion)
Location: HYBRID W/ ONSITE REQUIREMENT – 3 days onsite

We are looking for a motivated Production Support Engineer to drive change, reduce operational inefficiencies, and implement strategic solutions to enhance application support across multiple regions. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and technical skills, with a focus on ensuring system stability, quality, and meeting user expectations. You will be responsible for problem management and resolution, including issue documentation, root cause analysis, and trend analysis, while ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team of production support engineers to automate processes, reduce operational toil, and apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
- Provide Level 2 Production Support for Risk Applications utilized by Credit Risk and Market Risk teams.
- Work closely with Risk Reporting teams, utilizing tools like Tableau, Cognos, and ad hoc queries to decode complex queries and maintain data integrity in report outcomes.
- Perform incident and problem management, including prioritization, root cause analysis, and coordinating escalations with relevant teams.
- Improve production management processes across multiple regions using tools such as ITRS, AutoSys, AppDynamics, TruSight, and Elk.
- Conduct root cause analyses, recommend solutions, and facilitate post-mortem discussions.
- Provide overnight and weekend support for applications on a rotational basis, when required.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in Level 2/3 Production Support, with strong debugging and analytical skills.
- 1+ years of experience supporting large financial services firms.
- 3+ years of experience with Sybase, Oracle, Unix shell scripting, SQL, and writing scripts/database queries.
- 1+ years of experience with production management tools such as ITRS, AutoSys, AppDynamics, TruSight, and Elk.
- 1+ years of experience monitoring batches and ensuring SLA compliance.
- Experience with incident management tools like ServiceNow.
- Proficiency in resolving complex technical issues in applications, with a solid understanding of infrastructure (NAS, SAN, Object Store) support.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate issues to stakeholders, technology partners, and management.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with MongoDB.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with Core Java and Perl is a plus.
- Well-organized and a strong team player with a willingness to learn.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Additional Information:
- This role requires rotational support, including occasional overnight or weekend shifts.
