Job Title: Data Engineer
Assignment Type: 9 Month contract w/ potential to extend or convert
Work Location: Remote, prefer candidates in Charlotte or Chicago
The Role:
Levy Enterprise is seeking a Data Engineer, who will be responsible for delivering complex requirements using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Reporting Services. One of the key responsibilities of this role is collaborating with a variety of stakeholders to understand and design solutions that meet the functional and non-functional requirements. This individual will work to review solutions to ensure they are well designed and developed, with a focus on maintainability / extensibility / component re-usability. The individual will have the opportunity to learn / contribute across our larger tech stack, including ETL, internal development tools, and data analytics applications / infrastructure, according to their interests, bandwidth, and business needs.
Responsibilities:
• Design and advise on the development of maintainable & extensible code as part of feature delivery for our portfolio of applications
• Understand and document existing process flows and various integrations
• Understand and document existing data repositories
• Lead technical discussions to propose viable solutions to complex problems
• Provide guidance / mentorship to other developers on best practices, techniques and troubleshooting
• Review code and provide feedback to promote code quality and development standards
• Collaborate with business and engineering teams to uncover opportunities for process and application improvement
• Assist team with resolving technical complexities
• Design/continually improve on testing procedures (integration, regression, performance)
• Advise on how to improve on our existing continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines
Requirements
• Strong SSIS/SSRS experience with minimum 2 years professional experience developing solutions
• Strong attention to detail for developing a visually consistent and professional reports
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work within a team environment
Desired Skills
• Familiarity with cloud development / deployment (AWS preferred)
• Body of work that demonstrates creative problem solving
• Experience with AWS Airflow
