We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lien Negotiator to join our growing team and play a critical role in maximizing client recoveries by effectively negotiating post-settlement liens.
Your Role and Impact
As a Lien Negotiator, you will be an essential part of our team, ensuring that our clients receive the maximum recovery by effectively negotiating medical and other liens post-settlement. Your role will include:
- Negotiating a wide range of liens, including health insurance, hospital, private medical provider, and state and federal medical provider liens, with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for our clients.
- Reviewing and analyzing medical billing and lien documentation to identify discrepancies, errors, and opportunities for negotiation, ensuring that every case is handled with meticulous attention to detail.
- Collaborating closely with attorneys, legal staff, and third-party providers to strategize and implement case-specific lien negotiation tactics that align with the firm’s goals and client expectations.
- Maintaining accurate records of all lien negotiation activities, communications, and outcomes, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the post-settlement process.
- Providing regular updates to clients and providers, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional client service and transparent communication.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Proven experience in lien negotiation or a related field, with a deep understanding of medical billing and lien resolution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and technologies.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in complex documentation.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions.
- Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and work both independently and as a member of a collaborative team.
- Familiarity with Medi-Cal and Medicare processes is a plus.
Responsibilities
As a Lien Negotiator at Levin & Nalbandyan, you will be instrumental in ensuring our clients receive the best possible recovery by skillfully managing post-settlement lien negotiations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Engage with medical providers, insurance companies, and other relevant parties to negotiate and reduce health insurance, hospital, private medical provider, and state and federal medical provider liens.
- Review and analyze medical billing and lien documentation meticulously to uncover discrepancies, identify errors, and find opportunities for negotiation, ensuring the highest level of efficiency and accuracy in each case.
- Work closely with attorneys and legal staff to develop and execute tailored lien negotiation strategies that align with the firm’s goals and enhance client outcomes.
- Maintain open and consistent communication with clients, keeping them informed about the status of their cases and providing updates to medical providers, ensuring transparency and trust throughout the process.
- Keep precise and thorough records of all negotiation activities, correspondence, and outcomes to support the seamless finalization of cases.
- Handle all aspects of post-settlement case resolution, including drafting reduction letters, obtaining final medical balances, and organizing and itemizing client medical bills to ensure a smooth and timely conclusion.
- You will play a vital role in advocating for our clients and ensuring they receive the compensation they deserve, while also contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the firm.
