We are seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer (PE Required) for our corporate office based in New York, NY! The Sr. Electrical Engineer will be responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating engineering projects, as well as the overall design and delivery of services related to design and construction of electrical systems for Arora.
Essential Functions:
- Conceptualizes the initial electrical design for major phases of projects or has overall responsibility for the electrical engineering work on a project of limited scope.
- Plans, schedules, conducts and/or coordinated electrical engineering work.
- Ensures coordinated design between inter-departmental projects.
- Has full responsibility for design development, and design outcome.
- Serves as liaison between clients, and agencies, subcontractors and design teams.
- Reviews, signs and seals drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accuracy, often producing same.
- Contributes to estimation of projects, planning and construction feasibility.
- Provides advisory information during the construction phase.
- Attends and contributes to client and departmental meetings.
- Ensures assigned projects are completed within budget and on time.
- Ensures the quality of the work produced maintains high standards.
- Performs engineering studies.
- Performs technical and coordination check-review of project documentation and drawings.
- Follows up on issues with design and production staff to resolve problems and concerns.
Secondary Functions:
- Related duties as assigned.
- Lends support to all business areas outside of electrical focus as needed.
- Duties as assigned by Electrical Discipline Lead or Operations Manager.
Education/Experience Minimum:
- BS in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (PE) registration.
- 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years of experience as a Professional Electrical Engineer (PE).
- Aviation and Transportation industry experience preferred.
- Experience doing work for PANYNJ preferred.
- Ability to drive and maintain a safe driving record.
- Valid state driver’s license (any in US).
- In possession of appropriate paperwork to gain and maintain employment in the US.
- Ability to meet worksite security requirements.
Needed Skills:
- Knowledge of electrical power systems and lighting design
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit, software and use.
- Understanding of underlying principles of A/E industry.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Detail and safety-oriented.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Advanced knowledge of codes specific to area of expertise.
- Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
