Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and diligent Server Lift Technician to join our data center operations team. This role is essential for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of our data center hardware, including the installation, movement, and maintenance of servers and other IT equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a data center or IT infrastructure environment.
- Familiarity with data center operations and server hardware.
- Proficient in using mechanical lifting devices and hand tools.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices related to data center operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and lift heavy objects.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on server lifting tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Assist in the physical setup of new hardware, including racking, stacking, and cabling in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with the data center management team to schedule and plan for equipment installations and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to server hardware positioning and installation.
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment moves, installations, and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and company guidelines to prevent injury and equipment damage.
- Provide training and guidance to new staff on the proper use of lifting equipment and safety practices.
