JOB SUMMARY
The Technical Program Manager role is responsible for overseeing the execution of large technology initiatives/programs within our suite of products. A successful candidate will have a strong sense of urgency, the ability to establish the trustworthy relationships needed to influence cross functional teams and will have ownership in delivery within a fast-paced agile environment. The role involves defining key metrics and action items, reporting to leaders on delivery status and risks, assisting teams in risk management and creating a measurable plan that will lead to the quality on-time delivery of priorities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Defines key goals and metrics used to measure the status and success of multiple technology initiatives
- Creates and maintains effective risk management policies
- Meets with technology stakeholders to discuss program status, goals, and risks
- Oversees multiple technology teams, ensuring individual team goals are met
- Builds and maintains stakeholder and team relationships in order to influence program success
- Creates executive level status reporting documents
- Effectively communicates initiative status and risks to leaders
- Energizes team to accomplish goals
PRIMARY RESULTS ACCOUNTABLE FOR ACHIEVING
- Monitors technology initiatives and ensures goals are met
- Evaluates technology program strengths and weaknesses and creates action plans needed for success
- Ensures leaders are proactively informed of all technology program risks and provides recommendations for remediations
- Maintains an accurate technology program status report
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Certifications:
Education or job knowledge equivalent to college or university undergraduate education.
Preferred Certifications:
SAFe or Scrum Certifications: Certified SAFe Agilist (SA), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI Agile Practitioner (PMI-ACP), etc.
Project Management Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Practitioner of Project Management (CAPM), Certified Agile Project Manager (IAPM), etc.
Experience:
- The minimum amount of relevant work experience required to successfully perform the job, is five (5) years.
- 3+ years of experience in a program manager position.
- 2+ years of experience in a project manager position prior to moving to a program manager position.
- 3+ years of experience supporting technical software development initiatives.
- 3+ years of experience supporting or working with large development teams.
