The ideal candidate will have experience in product design and licensing, particularly within the Toys and Hardlines team. This role is responsible for overseeing product approvals, development, and strategies for Girls' products, including dolls, costumes, plush toys, role-play items, accessories, and novelty items
Qualifications:
5-7 years of experience in licensing and manufacturing
Strong communication skills
Experience in entertainment industry consumer product approvals
Knowledge of product manufacturing processes
Ability to design from concept to production
Skilled in delivering presentations and guiding discussions to actionable conclusions
Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments; able to troubleshoot and act decisively
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator; knowledge of InDesign, Keynote, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Responsibilities:
Licensing Expertise:
Ensure brand integrity by managing character revisions, storytelling, and property assets
Prioritize schedules based on the 28-month calendar and manage product approval meetings
Lead kick-off meetings with licensees and manage the product approval system (Mediabox)
Share detailed meeting notes with the global team and collaborate on licensor selection
Design Expertise and Innovation:
Act as the design expert for assigned categories, with an understanding of licensee design and manufacturing capabilities
Design solutions across the franchise and property roadmap, preparing presentations for product review meetings
Provide design input throughout the approval process, ensuring alignment with intellectual property priorities
Maintain knowledge of the retail landscape and monitor sales performance
Design Strategy:
Engage in broader company discussions on vision and strategy, identifying opportunities for growth
Understand regional retail pricing structures and create marketable product lines for both existing and new initiatives
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with team members and external partners
Develop presentations and collaborate with cross-functional partners on new projects
Build relationships with key partners, including licensees, manufacturers, category teams, and filmmakers
