Title: Gas & Chemical Technician
The shift for a new hire is M – F 7:00am – 3:30pm for the first 2 – 3 months for new hire training. After that they will be assigned to A, B, C D, compressed shift (7:00am - 7:30pm).
Shift A: every other Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue 7:00 pm – 7:30 am
Shift B: Su, M, Tu, every other Wed 7:00 am – 7:30 pm
Shift C: Wed, Th, Fri, every other Sat 7:00 pm – 7:30 am
Shift D: every other Wed, Th, Fri, Sat 7:00 am – 7:30 pm
Shift D: every other Wed, Th, Fri, Sat 7:00 am – 7:30 pm
The individual will be responsible for supporting and leading the technical demands of the site gas or chemical equipment. They will ensure compliance in operation and maintenance procedures, emergency preparedness, and drive flawless execution.
The individual will also be involved in project and sustaining operations, Basic Safety Processes, quality management, preventative maintenance, and training. They will support the installation, decommissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of all EMD Electronics Gas Systems, Applied Energy Systems gas systems, Fuji liquid delivery systems, Air Liquide Gas, and Chemical systems. The individual must be capable of performing cylinder and drum changes on all chemical and gas systems and perform complex troubleshooting and problem resolution for all equipment.
Must demonstrate quality and comprehensive knowledge of gas or chemical applications in wafer fabrication and emergency response.
Our team of 55 supports the facilities 24x7. The individual will be assigned to A, B, C D, compressed shift (7:00am - 7:30pm or 7:00pm – 7:30am).
Inexperienced and experienced will undergo comprehensive OJT and technical training and qualification programs. 5 levels of technicians offer a fast-paced promotion track. This is a career opportunity in a growing industry.
Technicians work on systems and maintain supply of chemicals and gases to a semiconductor manufacturing environment that makes the chips used in electronic devices such as Smart Phones, LEDs, and Flat Screen TV's
Technicians will be responsible for the safe operation of assigned chemical and/or gas distribution systems, with duties including:
• Handling and change-out of gas, chemical, and slurry containers
• Gas and chemical equipment troubleshooting and preventative/repair maintenance
• Computer operations to support job functions and customer needs
• Support of quality systems
Physical Attributes:
• Occasionally climbing ladders (utilizing fall protection)
• In some cases, Technicians must put on a Supplied Contained Breathing Air Respirator (this type of respirator provides air from a cylinder through a mask connected to the cylinder) while working with chemicals (approx. 10-15 minutes
• Basic lifting (up to 40lbs)
• Bending of the knees and overhead reaching
• PPE made available to workers includes safety glasses, hard hat, ear plugs, chemical aprons, gloves, etc. Worker will be provided with vouchers to purchase safety boots, which they are required to wear
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in maintenance or as an equipment technician or in a mechanical or electronic environment is a plus
• Previous experience with chemical and gas distribution equipment is helpful but not a must
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• Military training is welcomed
• Strong technical aptitude
• Excellent communication skills
