Our client, an industry leader in financial services and investment management, has an excellent opportunity for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to work on a 12+month contract opportunity. Work will be a hybrid on-site/remote schedule in Durham, NC. The platform services team delivers and calculates data that enables financial planning tools. The SDET will come with demonstrated experience testing and developing high-volume Batch applications.

Responsibilities of the Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET):
- The Planning and Advice Platform team seeks to provide the best financial outcome for our customers through financial planning and advice.
- The platform services team delivers and calculates data that enables financial planning tools to provide that outcome.
- Demonstrated testing and development of high-volume Batch application
- Automated Testing and Continuous Integration enable rapid development and deployment of our best-in-class planning tools.
- Ability to work cross functionally in Quality assurance and Development ensures our success in bringing the best of planning and financial execution to our customers
- Development of automated and innovative tools to increase development velocity and decrease manual, repetitive effort magnifies our ability to deliver products quickly and with high assurance of excellent quality.
- You are a person who through your own initiative, introduces and drives innovative solutions to assure outstanding quality for our customers.

Requirements of the Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET):
- Java with Spring Boot and Rest Assured, Postman or other OOP experience
- Spark
- BDD testing with Cucumber and Gherkin
- Agile software development process (and tools such as JIRA, GIT/Stash, Splunk)
- DevSecOps: Jenkins, virtualization, automated test
- Cloud
- Batch processes (Control-M for example)/high volume batch processing (big data)
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
