This hybrid role allows for flexibility, with the opportunity to work from home, but you should be willing to travel occasionally to client sites as required. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders to implement solutions that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and drive results that are critical to national security and global competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Optimization: Evaluate and optimize operational processes, including manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and logistics, ensuring cost-effective and high-performance outcomes.
- Process Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational frameworks to streamline operations and reduce inefficiencies.
- Supply Chain Resilience: Provide expert advice on supply chain management, procurement optimization, and risk mitigation strategies specific to aerospace and defense.
- Digital Transformation: Implement new technologies and digital tools to modernize operations, increase efficiency, and drive innovation across production and operational functions.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure client operations comply with regulatory requirements, such as defense acquisition and export controls, while managing associated risks.
- Client Engagement: Work directly with senior leadership at client organizations to diagnose operational challenges and implement strategic improvements that align with business goals.
- Travel: While this role is hybrid, occasional travel to client sites will be required to lead on-site assessments, workshops, and project implementation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- 3-7 years of operational experience within aerospace and/or defense industries, particularly focused on consulting, operations, or manufacturing.
- Proven track record in operational improvement, including experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies for process optimization.
- In-depth understanding of aerospace and defense industry operations, including manufacturing processes, supply chain logistics, and procurement.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and defense contracting processes (e.g., DoD, FAR/DFARS).
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain security clearance preferred.
- Flexibility to work in a hybrid model and travel occasionally to client sites.
