Our client, an International Financial Services and investment firm located in the Irvine, CA area is seeking to hire a perm Systems Administrator (Cloud) with a passion for overseeing and executing on the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems within the corporate organization. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure and will work closely with the IT team to implement best practices and procedures managing and maintaining the cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and mentor junior cloud system administrators. Qualifications and Experience Required:
Proven experience as a Cloud Systems Administrator or similar role.
Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.
Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols
Any relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Systems Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate, Windows Server Certification, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cloud+, AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS SysOps Administrator or AWS DevOps Engineer)

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and process improvement skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Essential Responsibilities and daily Duties
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following (and other duties as assigned)
Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, including servers, desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
Deploy, configure, and manage cloud-based services and resources (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, escalating to senior team members as needed.
Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software problems in a timely manner. This may involve troubleshooting issues, providing guidance on best practices, and assisting with system configurations.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Design and perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures.
Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to streamline cloud operations.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IAC) principles for resource provisioning.
Implement security measures to protect the organization's systems and data, including patch management and antivirus updates.
Collaborate with the IT team to develop and implement best practices and procedures for system administration.
Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. This documentation is essential for maintaining the integrity of the system and for training new staff members.
Assist in the administration of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Support the IT team in planning and executing system upgrades and migrations.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in system administration, recommending new solutions and approaches to improve efficiency and security.
