Job Summary: We are on the hunt for an experienced and dedicated Fiber Supervisor specializing in fiber maintenance to join our dynamic team. You’ll oversee the maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks, ensuring top-notch quality and efficiency. This role demands strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead and supervise a team of fiber optic technicians.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to ensure high-quality work and professional growth.
- Conduct performance evaluations and offer constructive feedback.
Project Management:
- Plan and coordinate installation and maintenance projects.
- Develop project schedules, allocate resources, and monitor progress.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders for seamless execution.
Technical Expertise:
- Oversee the installation of fiber optic cables, connectors, and related equipment.
- Ensure proper splicing, termination, and testing of fiber optic cables.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Conduct quality assurance checks and audits.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, tests, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of fiber optic materials.
Customer Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with leadership, partners, vendors, and/or suppliers.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet customer needs.
Safety and Training:
- Promote a culture of safety and conduct regular safety training sessions.
- Ensure team members have the necessary tools and protective equipment.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in fiber optic technology.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certifications or vocational training in fiber optics or telecommunications are preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in fiber optic installation, maintenance, and repair. Previous supervisory or leadership experience is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using fiber optic tools and equipment. Strong understanding of fiber optic components, transmission systems, and network architectures.
- Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) or Fiber Optic Installer (FOI) are highly desirable.
