Our client in Crystal Lake, IL is looking for a competent and technically skilled Tier 1 Help Desk Specialist to provide fast and efficient solutions to our users’ technical problems. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in Tier 1 support, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and comprehensive knowledge of windows OS, Active Directory, O 365, and on-prem Exchange. If you are patient, empathetic, and have a knack for explaining complex tech issues in an understandable way, then this 5-year contract position is perfect for you.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first line support to internal staff and assist in solving complex technical issues.
- Utilize and maintain the helpdesk incident software.
- Desktop/workstation support, software, and hardware.
- Maintain and troubleshoot devices and systems, hardware, and software.
- Document issues and solutions.
- Track and maintain inventory for all hardware and software.
- Understanding and support of Windows OS, Active Directory, O 365.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a Tier 1 support role.
- High level understanding of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, On-prem Exchange, and O 365.
- Network+ certification would be a big plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to support a 24/7 operation which may require work outside of normal business hours.
