Currency Exchange International is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Treasury Analyst to join our Treasury Team!
The Treasury Analyst is responsible for daily execution across all areas of Corporate Treasury Risk Management, including balance sheet hedging and liquidity management. This role is pivotal in ensuring the success of Treasury Group’s strategic initiatives aimed at streamlined processes, data visualization and enhanced decision-making. The Treasury Analyst embraces a mindset of continual process improvement in all daily tasks and responsibilities and is motivated to deliver optimal outcomes. This role requires self-sufficiency and resourcefulness across all responsibilities, with an acumen for problem solving and critical thinking. The Treasury Analyst is accountable for distilling complex problems or ambiguous information into an objective decision tree. This role is required to execute daily decisions and transactions under tight time constraints with accuracy and confidence. The Treasury Analyst communicates ideas effectively and succinctly across departments and various levels of management.
Essential Functions:
Treasury Analyst:
- Execute foreign exchange balance sheet hedges and cash management activity across the organization, in adherence to policy limits, regulatory requirements, financial covenants, and certain KPIs.
- Possess a solid understanding of foreign exchange risk management tools, and an intellectual curiosity towards risk-mitigation strategies that include the use of forwards, swaps, options, and natural hedges.
- Develop formal lines of communication with key stakeholders to effectively risk-manage certain foreign exchange denominated assets and liabilities across the organization, including the intercompany loan and various natural hedges.
- Employ advanced knowledge of excel to work efficiently with multiple sets of data from disparate sources. Support Treasury Manager to develop, enhance, and maintain all cash management and hedge models.
- Manage daily cash flow obligations across the organization and employ foresight into daily decision making to effectively manage liquidity risk.
- Coordinate regularly with stakeholders to develop formal inventory forecasts that contribute to robust cash flow forecasts and hedge targets. Support efforts to build robust cash flow forecasting models.
- Responsible for all daily entries and month-end reporting related to balance sheet hedges in the Treasury hedge models.
- Support the Treasury Manager in the compilation of all month-end reporting, including internal residual exposure reports developed for Risk, mark-to-market and regulatory calculations developed for Accounting, VaR metrics and KPIs, liquidity metrics and KPIs, fair market valuation of foreign exchange option hedges, and preparation of Power Point slides for monthly Finance Committee meetings.
- Produce daily management reports summarizing adherence to policy and regulatory requirements and generate daily cash position reports and balance sheet hedging P/L reports.
- Develop enhanced reporting functionality for balance sheet hedging, cash flow forecasting and working capital management. Directly contribute to the development of a Treasury dashboard for CXI and EBC.
- Advise and assist with the development of cash management and balance sheet hedging process automation. Contribute to the implementation of a Treasury Risk Management solution alongside a new ERP system.
- Embrace a mindsight of continuous process improvement. Identify areas where workflow can be streamlined, design formal recommendations for improvement, and coordinate across various departments, including IT, Data Analytics, and Process Improvement, to execute desired changes.
- Take initiative to resolve complex problems and follow through or escalate to achieve resolution.
- Access accounting software to view financial data pertinent to Treasury Risk Management, as well as to verify accounting entries and P/L calculations of balance sheet exposures.
- Responsible to review and coordinate any margin call notices with relationship banks.
- Own and maintain all Corporate Treasury procedure documents.
- Support Treasury Manager with maintenance of user access database for all bank accounts as well as the database of signature cards and authorized signers.
- Serve as primary back-up for the alternate Treasury Analyst, and support Treasury Manager and Treasurer in ongoing project initiatives.

- Experience in foreign exchange hedging and decision making regarding natural hedges
- Must be highly competent with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to organize and synthesize varying sets of data into predictive tools which drive decision making.
- Strong acumen to develop risk mitigating strategies
- An ideal candidate will have experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools, including but not limited to Tableau
Time Management:
- Ability to juggle several competing deadlines and prioritize to complete work according to established deadlines. The ability to prioritize daily responsibilities against ongoing project deliverables

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in a Corporate Treasury environment or similar
- Proven experience within Financial Modelling
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Days of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
