About Us: Our client is a Personal Injury Law Firm seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join their team. Must have a minimum of TWO years experience working at a personal injury law firm.
Job Description:
Position Overview: As a Paralegal you will support attorneys in handling personal injury cases from inception to resolution. Your role will involve conducting legal research, drafting documents, managing case files, and interacting with clients to ensure a smooth and efficient legal process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal injury law, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for advocating on behalf of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and management of case files, ensuring all documents and evidence are accurately organized and maintained.
- Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely filing of documents and motions.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and address any concerns.
- Prepare clients for depositions, hearings, and trials by explaining procedures and gathering necessary documentation.
- Assist in the discovery process by preparing interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas.
- Organize and review evidence and medical records related to personal injury claims.
- Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, and court appearances.
- Manage billing records and assist in the preparation of legal invoices.
- File documents with the court and ensure compliance with local rules and procedures.
- Maintain and update case management systems and databases.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience. Paralegal certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Paralegal in personal injury law.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of personal injury law and legal procedures.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
