Our client is a large, privately held manufacturing firm in the Greater Bluefield, VA area. They are a producer of electronic components and equipment for systems used in the energy sector. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for implementing process flow and equipment improvements to drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
Your experience in lean manufacturing will be key to optimizing production flow, identifying and implementing 5S, standard work, set-up time reduction, material pull and kanban systems. You will manage capital projects to implement automation and improve processes; analyze equipment downtime to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs; and create or improve manufacturing documentation for operator instructions.
Desired skills, education, and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing);
- 3+ years of experience, with a focus in high volume manufacturing
- High-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment preferred;
- Ability to patiently train and mentor people, develop new leaders, create a culture of safety, collaboration/teamwork, accountability, and trust.
